Athlete Brands Network
Privacy Policy

Effective 4/7/2026

Athlete Brands LLC (“Athlete Brands,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of the athletes and users within the Athlete Brands Network. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our platform and services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information generated through your use of the platform.

  • Account Information: Name, email address, age, and password.

  • Profile & Athletic Data: Personal stats, athletic achievements, social media metrics, and school affiliation.

  • Media Content: High-quality images and videos submitted for merchandise, social media spotlights, or promotional features.

  • Financial Information: Payment identifiers for processing payouts via Stripe or PayPal. We do not store full credit card numbers; these are handled by our third-party processors.

  • Communication Data: Emails sent through our recruitment tools and any metadata associated with your connected Gmail account.

2. Google API & Gmail Integration (Limited Use)

Our platform allows you to connect your Gmail account via Google OAuth to send recruitment emails to coaches.

  • Data Access: We only access the specific metadata required to sync and send your outreach. We do not "own" or store your full email history.

  • Google Limited Use Disclosure: Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Service User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • No Data Sale: We strictly do not sell your Google user data to third parties, nor do we use it for serving advertisements.

  • Revocation: You may revoke the platform's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Security settings.

    2.1 How Google Authentication Works

Athlete Brands Network uses Google OAuth 2.0 to allow users to optionally connect their Gmail account to the platform. The authentication flow works as follows:

    1. The user clicks Connect Gmail in the Recruitment Tools section of their Athlete Brands Network dashboard.

    2. The user is redirected to Google's secure OAuth consent screen, hosted entirely by Google, where they review the permissions being requested.

    3. The user chooses to approve or deny the connection. Athlete Brands Network never sees the user's Google password at any point in this process.

    4. If approved, Google issues Athlete Brands Network a secure, time-limited OAuth access token. This token — not any password or credential — is what Athlete Brands Network uses to interact with the Gmail API on the user's behalf.

    5. The token is stored securely and used only when the user initiates an email send action from within the platform. It is never used for any background or automated activity.

The connection is entirely optional. Athletes who do not connect Gmail may still use all other platform features.

2.2 What Happens When You Connect Gmail

Upon connecting your Gmail account, Athlete Brands Network receives a limited OAuth token that enables only the specific actions described below. At no point does Athlete Brands Network gain access to your Google password, payment methods, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or any other Google service outside the scopes listed.

The connection displays in your Athlete Brands Network dashboard under Connected Accounts, showing your Gmail address and profile name so you can confirm which account is linked. You may disconnect at any time.

2.3 How the Gmail Send Feature Works

When an athlete uses the Recruitment Tools feature to contact a college coach:

    1. The athlete selects a coach from the platform's coaching directory and composes a personalized outreach email within the Athlete Brands Network dashboard.

    2. Upon clicking Send, Athlete Brands Network uses the stored OAuth token to submit the email to Gmail's API for delivery from the athlete's own Gmail address.

    3. The email is delivered to the coach's inbox appearing as sent from the athlete's personal Gmail account.

    4. A copy of the sent email appears in the athlete's Gmail Sent folder, as it would with any normally sent Gmail message.

    5. Athlete Brands Network logs only the timestamp, recipient, and subject line for the athlete's in-platform outreach history. The body content of sent emails is not stored by Athlete Brands Network after transmission.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to:

  • Facilitate connections between athletes and brands for NIL opportunities.

  • Operate and manage your custom merchandise store.

  • With Coaches: When you use our recruitment tools to send emails, your information is disclosed to the recipients you select.

  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
